Support Those In Need

Catastrophic events have always been a part of the human experience. Whether they are natural, man-made, or both, distinct events or pervasive and persistent, they overwhelm our ability to protect ourselves and stay safe. Trauma is what happens when our normal responses to abnormal experiences create lasting changes in our lives. Trauma affects individuals and communities directly and indirectly, generating obstacles, and sometimes resulting in systems that harm instead of help both the providers and those they serve.

The Karuna Project is dedicated to supporting those who work with individuals, communities and systems affected by trauma. We provide cutting edge, research based trauma education and trauma-informed practices to enhance safety and effectiveness. We build awareness, understanding and skills for self care and healing within response organizations and those they serve.
